Webinar: Strengthening Grid Resilience Through Intelligent Digitalisation

Wednesday, 29 April 2026
03:00 PM - 04:00 PM (GMT+8)

About the webinar

Utilities are facing unprecedented pressure from renewable integration, rising electricity demand, aging infrastructure, and increasing grid complexity. Modernising the grid is no longer just about expansion. It is about resilience, visibility, and intelligent automation. This 1-hour session, powered by TE Connectivity, explores how advanced fault detection and grid digitalisation technologies help utilities move from reactive outage management to predictive and automated network operation.

This webinar aims to provide participants with

  • An understanding of how advanced fault detection and grid digitalisation technologies help utilities move from reactive outage management to predictive and automated network operation
  • Insights into early fault detection using partial discharge monitoring, directional fault indicators, and feeder automation to reduce outage duration and improve SAIDI and SAIFI performance
  • Knowledge of practical digitalisation roadmaps that enable utilities to scale from local visibility to self-healing networks using FLISR strategies
  • Guidance on combining digital monitoring with physical hardening of critical network points to strengthen asset reliability and operational efficiency
  • Practical examples of ensuring continuous power supply across increasingly complex distribution networks

  1. This session explores how advanced fault detection and grid digitalisation technologies help utilities move from reactive outage management to predictive and automated network operation. Participants will learn how early fault detection using partial discharge monitoring, directional fault indicators, and feeder automation reduces outage duration and improves SAIDI and SAIFI performance. We will also discuss how a practical digitalisation roadmap enables utilities to scale from local visibility to self healing networks using FLISR strategies.

By combining digital monitoring with physical hardening of critical network points, utilities can strengthen asset reliability, improve operational efficiency, and ensure continuous power supply across increasingly complex distribution networks.

    Panel Discussion:

Modernising power grids through advanced visibility, automation, and secure connectivity

    • Customer challenges / How the grid is changing, how renewables are adding complexity
    • Enabling digitalisation from substation to feeder

Translating grid modernisation into resilience and reliability outcomes

    • Reducing outage duration through predictive fault detection and faster location
    • Leveraging partial discharge insights to prevent underground cable & overhead line failures before breakdown
    • Improving SAIDI/SAIFI through automation and restoration strategies (e.g., FLISR)

Hardening grid infrastructure through practical, field-proven measures
