Here are the Award Categories:
Transmission & Distribution Networks
This award includes project advances and technology developments driving ASEAN’s network infrastructure. The award can also be extended to power trading agreements to help realising the APG dream.
Innovation
This award is all-encompassing and acknowledges innovation across technology, digital, financing mechanisms, and more. It also opens to start-ups and disruptors shaking the sector’s status quo.
Power Utility of the Year
This category celebrates regional power utilities which delivers business excellence across functions and daily operations. This includes exceeding customer delivery targets, achieving project realisation, driving net zero agenda, adopting innovative technology, among others.
Power Plant Project of the Year
This award opens to any power plant, or service/technology provider, that has set itself apart from contemporaries. The winner shall have gone through successful project completion, engineering upgrades, new/ novel technology implementation or has applied environmental control technologies.
Smart Grid
This category recognises outstanding smart grid projects across the region regardless of scale. The winner shall has successfully implemented or highlighted the application of digital technology, leverages on new data-rich technologies to allow greater reliability, control, insight for utilities and customers.
Renewable Energy & Sustainability
This category recognises renewable energy or hydrogen project that has been completed or achieved a significant milestone, utilised RECs to drive RE adoption in the region, or successfully implemented reliable and sustainable power solutions, not limiting to successful utilisation of distributed energy technology and/or energy storage.
Energy Storage
This award celebrates ground-breaking energy storage products and solutions, conventional battery technology or successfully implemented energy storage solutions supporting energy transition in ASEAN power system.
Independent Power Producer of the Year
This category celebrates successful project completion, significant M&A activity, ground-breaking technology adoption, future strategy and sector leadership in driving a cleaner energy future, and other activities which differentiate IPPs from its contemporaries in 2025-2026.
Low Carbon Transport
This category includes any significant contribution to the development of efficient, cost-effective low carbon mobility solutions, or projects that have supported the development or growth of non-ICE transportation across the region.
ASEAN Electrification Project of the Year
This award highlights ASEAN projects which supports 100% electrification of Southeast Asia. It also celebrates the use of innovative technology to electrify rural and off-grid populations.
