Yasuhiro Kawabe
Yasuhiro Kawabe was appointed President & CEO of Mitsubishi Power, Ltd. in April 2026. Based in Tokyo, he oversees the company’s global operations and business expansion, and leads the innovation and commercialization of next-generation technologies and services that help drive energy resilience and decarbonization worldwide.
Kawabe joined Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) in 1993 and has a proven track record of fostering client relationships and managing large-scale projects across global markets. For over 30 years, he has held progressively senior sales and implementation roles at MHI and its group companies, across Europe, the Middle East, the Americas, and Japan.
Kawabe’s experience spans site administration, customer management, project delivery, and commercial leadership for major power projects, including gas turbine combined cycle developments. He also has longstanding project execution experience at Takasago, Mitsubishi Power’s core R&D hub.
Kawabe holds a degree in economics from Keio University.
