Somsak Dangtip
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Somsak Dangtip obtained his Ph.D. in Applied Neutron Research from Uppsala University, Sweden, in 2000. He currently serves as Deputy Director of the Thailand Institute of Nuclear Technology (Public Organization), or TINT. He has extensive experience in applied neutron research, nuclear physics, research infrastructure, nuclear technology management, research commercialization, and fusion technology development.Prior to joining TINT’s executive management, he held academic and administrative positions at Mahidol University and Chiang Mai University, including Associate Professor, Deputy Dean for Administration, and Chair of the M.Sc. Physics Programme.Dr. Dangtip has played a key role in advancing Thailand’s fusion technology, serving as Project Manager of Thailand Tokamak-1, the first tokamak in Thailand and the ASEAN region. He also serves as Thailand’s National Contact Point for Fusion Technology under Horizon Europe, contributing to national capability building and international collaboration in advanced nuclear and clean-energy technologies.
