Somruedee Chaimongkol
Somruedee has worked at Banpu since its inception in 1983. She served as Chief Executive Officer from 2015 to 2024; she has now been appointed to the Senior Executive Officer, in which capacity she will continue to help drive the company's financial, societal, and environmental success. She has transformed Banpu into a fully integrated energy company, synergizing upstream, midstream, and downstream operations.
Some of her key achievements include the launch of Banpu's clean energy flagship company, Banpu NEXT, the IPO of Banpu Power, the company's foothold in the US Gas business, and navigating the COVID-19 crisis by creating new opportunities for stakeholders and shareholders. In recognition of these achievements, Somruedee was awarded the 2023 Outstanding Woman Award for Environmental Quality Promotion from the National Council of Women of Thailand, and was recognized as the “Thailand Top CEO of the Year 2022†in the natural resources production and supply sector by BUSINESS+ magazine. Prior to being CEO, Somruedee served as Chief Financial Officer, earning awards including “Best CFO†from acclaimed Asian finance ranking institutions.
