Siew Hwa Tan
Tan Siew Hwa is a Professional Engineer with Practising Certificate (PEPC) and a senior utility professional with more than 29 years of experience in the electricity distribution industry. She holds a First Class Honours degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the University of Leicester, UK, and an MBA with Distinction from the University of Malaya.
She currently serves as Head of Department, Asset Management, Distribution Network Division at Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), where she leads strategic asset management, asset lifecycle planning, investment strategies, engineering standards and initiatives to enhance network performance, resilience and cost effectiveness.
With extensive experience spanning distribution network planning, system performance, energy efficiency, regulatory management and commercial strategy, she has played key roles in shaping TNB’s distribution network development and regulatory submissions. She is also actively involved in advancing the Smart Utility and Grid of the Future agenda, including Distribution Automation, Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS), GIS and Smart Community Infrastructure.
Passionate about innovation, continuous improvement and knowledge sharing, she is committed to building a more resilient, intelligent and sustainable electricity distribution network for the future.
