Satoru Iwamoto
Satoru Iwamoto was appointed Senior Vice President for Global Sales & Marketing and Head of Business Development & Commercial Operations at Mitsubishi Power, Ltd. in April 2025. With over 25 years of experience at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and its group companies, he champions cross-cultural leadership and operational excellence and is committed to developing high-performing global teams.
Joining MHI in 1998, Iwamoto is an expert in international sales, contract administration, claims management, and energy project delivery. He was Commercial Manager for several major projects in the Middle East, and in 2014 became Head of Claims Management for projects totaling 9.6 GW in South Africa. In 2017, he returned to the global headquarters in Japan and has since held leadership positions across sales, marketing, commercial operations, and strategy functions.
Iwamoto earned his bachelor’s degree in Economic Engineering from Kyushu University in Fukuoka, Japan.
