Sarjiya -
Prof. Ir. Sarjiya, S.T., M.T, PhD., IPU. is a Professor of Power System Operation and Planning at the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada. He also serves as the Head of the UGM Energy Studies Center, and he leads the SPARTA research group on smart power and resilient energy transition.
He received both his bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering from Universitas Gadjah Mada, and he earned his doctoral degree from Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand.
He was inaugurated as a full professor in February 2024, in the field of power system operation and planning. His inaugural address was titled "Integration of Variable Renewable Energy in Power System Planning and Operation toward a Sustainable Energy Transition", a theme he continues to develop today.
His research focuses on power system operation and planning, reliability analysis, optimization, and the integration of variable renewable energy into the grid. His recent work spans decarbonization pathways, carbon pricing, and hybrid nuclear-renewable energy systems for Indonesia. He has published more than 180 Scopus-indexed papers with more than 1,100 citations.
