Ryutaro Suzuki
Ryutaro Suzuki is the Chief Operating Officer of JERA Asia and Executive Officer of the Asia & Middle East Group in the Platform Business Division of JERA Co. He oversees strategic asset management as well as business growth and partnerships for the gas-to-power and low-carbon value chain businesses across Asia and the Middle East.
Mr. Suzuki previously served as the Executive Officer of JERA’s Energy Transition Group leading major initiatives in ammonia, hydrogen and aligning technical development with business and country strategy. He also headed the LNG Value Chain and Natural Resources Business Development, to scale JERA’s business in the global market.
Prior to JERA, Mr. Suzuki spent close to 30 years at MUFG Bank, where he held executive positions across project finance, corporate banking, and regulatory governance, in both Asia and Canada. He has extensive expertise and a strong track record of leading complex project finance transactions in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
Mr. Suzuki holds an MBA from University of Chicago in United States and a Bachelor of Economics from Osaka University in Japan.
