Pongsak Marukatat is a Senior Electrical Engineer and Head of the Foreign Grid-to-Grid Power Purchase Agreement Division at the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT). With over 20 years of experience in the power industry, he specializes in power purchase agreement management, cross-border electricity trading, and regional power system interconnection. His expertise spans domestic and international cogeneration and renewable energy projects, including Independent Power Producer (IPP), Small Power Producer (SPP), and Foreign Independent Power Producer (FIPP) projects. His current responsibilities center on government-to-government (G2G) power trading involving Thailand, Lao PDR, and Malaysia, together with multilateral electricity trading under the Lao PDR–Thailand–Malaysia–Singapore Power Integration Project (LTMS-PIP). He also contributes to the development of procurement criteria, commercial arrangements, and implementation frameworks for cross-border power transactions. Through this work, he advances regional energy cooperation and supports the development of a more interconnected, reliable, flexible, and sustainable ASEAN power market.
