Partha Pratim Dutta is a distinguished power sector professional currently serving as the Executive Director (Distribution) at WBSEDCL, where he oversees the entire distribution vertical for the state of West Bengal. With a career spanning more than 32 years, he has established himself as a pioneering figure in power distribution, energy management, and technological innovation.

Career Journey & Key Achievements :
After gaining foundational industry experience at leading organizations like Siemens Ltd, Wipro Ltd, and Toshniwal Instruments, Mr. Dutta entered the power sector in 1994 as an Assistant Engineer (Operation & Maintenance) in the Distribution Wing of the erstwhile WBSEB. Over three decades, he successfully achieved the ranks by managing diverse and critical portfolios, including:
- Infrastructure Development: Oversaw the construction of multiple 33/11 KV substations as well as extensive 33KV and 11KV transmission lines.
- Operational Leadership: Served for a decade as the Regional Head for high-stakes districts like Murshidabad and North 24 Parganas, and as the Zonal Head for Burdwan. He later served for nearly two years as the Chief Engineer (Distribution), managing the entire South Bengal region and parts of North Bengal and then took charge as Executive Director (Distribution) as in charge of Distribution vertical of entire State of West Bengal since years 2024.
- Technological Innovation: He was the primary driving force behind introducing WBSEDCL’s first fully unmanned, SCADA-operated substation in Asansol. Additionally, he modernized operations by introducing advanced software applications for loss prevention and new connection workflows.
- Honours & Recognition: - His exceptional contributions to national electrification and efficiency goals were recognized on a grand scale in 2019, when he secured the Best Performer Award in the "Saubhagya Yojana" from the Ministry of Power, Government of India
