Nobuhiro Kawai
Nobuhiro Kawai was appointed President Director of PT Mitsubishi Power Indonesia in April 2025. He has more than two decades of experience in international business development, project commercialization, and market expansion in the global energy sector.
Kawai joined Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) in 2001, managing sales, marketing, and project operations worldwide, including geothermal power plants in Iceland and New Zealand, a power plant in Brazil, and an LNG terminal in Mexico.
In 2009, he joined MHI’s International Sales and Marketing Department at its Japan headquarters. Since then, he has held various leadership roles, and was instrumental in securing power generation projects in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. From 2021 to 2025, Kawai served as Group Manager of the Southeast Asia Group for Mitsubishi Power, strengthening the company’s presence across the region.
Kawai holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Shiga University
