Mohamad Zharif Bin Mohamad Zani is a Training Engineer at Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), Malaysia, with professional experience in the energy and technical training sector. He is currently pursuing a PhD at Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), focusing on Non-Intrusive Load Monitoring (NILM) for building energy management. His research explores data-driven approaches to appliance-level energy monitoring, with particular emphasis on improving the robustness of machine-learning models under practical challenges such as class imbalance, varying sampling resolutions, and measurement conditions. The exploration continues beyond energy disaggregation towards the practical deployment of NILM in real-world building environments, transforming energy monitoring data into actionable insights to support energy efficiency, operational decision-making, and intelligent energy management.
