Indonesia

Mochamad Nur Arifin (born April 7, 1990) has served as the Regent of Trenggalek since May 28, 2019. Previously, he served as the Deputy Regent of Trenggalek. Mochamad Nur Arifin earned a place in the Indonesian World Records Museum (MURI) as the youngest Deputy Regent in Indonesia; he was 25 years old when he assumed the role of Deputy Regent of Trenggalek. Mochamad Nur Arifin also serves as the Chairman of the PDIPerjuangan Branch Leadership Council (DPC) for Trenggalek Regency for the 2019–2024 term. He was appointed to this position by the PDI-Perjuangan Central Executive Board (DPP) during the simultaneous PDI-Perjuangan Branch Conference held in Madiun on July 7, 2019. In the 2024 Trenggalek Regent election, Arifin ran again for the office for the 2025–2030 term, partnering with the same deputy, Syah Muhammad Natanegara. The pair successfully prevailed against a "blank box" (running unopposed), securing 282,576 votes, or 80.80% of the total valid votes. Arifin completed his primary education at Margorejo V Elementary School, graduating in 2001. He continued his studies at State Junior High School (SMPN) 12 Surabaya, graduating in 2004, and subsequently attended State Senior High School (SMAN) 6 Surabaya, graduating in 2007.

In 2019, Arifin wrote a thesis titled "Implementation of the *Gerakan Tengok Bawah Masalah Kemiskinan* (Gertak) Program as a Poverty Alleviation Effort in Trenggalek." Gertak was an innovation he initiated while serving as Deputy Regent and concurrently as the Head of the Poverty Alleviation Coordination Team. The program became one of the Trenggalek Regency Government's key initiatives for alleviating poverty in the region. In 2023, she successfully completed a Master’s program in Human Resource Development with a specialization in Women’s Empowerment Studies at Airlangga University (Unair) in Surabaya; her thesis was titled "Bung Karno’s Thoughts in the Book *Sarinah* and Gender Mainstreaming in Trenggalek Regency
