Mark A. Valencia
Mark A. Valencia is the Chief Technology Officer of Aboitiz Power Distribution Utilities, one of the Philippines' largest and most innovative energy distribution networks. With over three decades of experience in the power industry, Mark brings a wealth of expertise in engineering, operations, and strategic technology leadership.
Mark began his career as a Cadet Engineer at Davao Light and Power Company in 1993 and steadily rose through the ranks—from Engineering Supervisor to Vice President of the Engineering Group—before taking on his current role as CTO in 2020. Today, he leads the digital and technological transformation of multiple distribution utilities under the AboitizPower group, driving initiatives in smart grid development, data analytics, and grid modernization.
A registered electrical engineer, Mark holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Silliman University and an MBA from Ateneo de Davao University. He has completed executive programs at the Asian Institute of Management in risk management, business leadership, and enterprise-wide strategy.
