James is CTO and co-founder of Octopus Energy Group and the brains behind Kraken Technologies. The proprietary technology platform developed within Octopus Energy Group and recently valued at $8.65bn.
James studied engineering at Pembroke College, Cambridge and subsequently worked on technology for Unilever as they built up to Y2K. Following that, James founded businesses that built technology for a range of high profile clients such as the UK Labour Party, SAP, Carlsberg and Borders. James has been instrumental in the creation of Octopus Energy’s proprietary technology, digital-first offerings and its global expansion - as well as leading the growth of the Kraken technology team to over 3,000 people around the globe.
