Iwa Garniwa
Prof. Dr. Ir. Iwa Garniwa M. K., M.T., IPU., ASEAN Eng., APEC Eng. is a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Universitas Indonesia and the Rector of Institut Teknologi PLN (ITPLN). He earned his Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral degrees in Electrical Engineering from Universitas Indonesia, completing his doctoral studies in 2003. He has been involved in teaching and research in electrical engineering since 1989, with expertise in high-voltage engineering, electrical materials, energy efficiency, power quality, building electrical installations, electrical energy auditing, and lightning protection systems. His research interests also include smart energy, electric vehicles, energy prediction, and electricity demand analysis. He has served in various academic and professional capacities, including leadership in the Electric Power and Energy Studies (EPES) and the High Voltage and Energy Storage Research Group (HAVENS) at Universitas Indonesia. As Rector of ITPLN, he contributes to the development of human resources and innovation in energy, electricity, and technology to support Indonesia's energy transition.
