Husna Fathiah Zulkarnain
Husna Fathiah Binti Zulkarnain is an Analyst in Capacity Planning at Single Buyer, Tenaga Nasional Berhad, supporting Malaysia's long-term electricity system planning and energy transition. She holds a first-class Master of Engineering in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Imperial College London.
Her work spans generation expansion, capacity and fuel-mix projections, reliability standards, tariff impacts, battery energy storage valuation, and low-carbon technologies aligned with Net Zero 2050 ambition. Husna has contributed to planning scenarios, including JPPPET studies, RP5 simulations, LSS5 and LSS5+ initiatives, and assessments of delayed commercial operation dates for independent power producers. She also co-developed testing procedures for battery energy storage system contracts and automated planning workflows using Python and PLEXOS. Beyond delivery, she mentors Suruhanjaya Tenaga, engages government agencies and industry stakeholders, presents findings, organises PLEXOS training, and shares expertise through forums such as ENLIT.
