Hariharan Balan
With over 20 years of experience as an Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer and Manager at TNB Genco, he has built deep expertise across oil-fired and combined cycle power plants. He spent a decade as a Senior Engineer overseeing electrical, instrumentation & control maintenance, as well as process optimisation. Currently, he serves as a Technical Expert in EC&I, specialising in overhaul works and retrofit projects, supporting both TNB and non-TNB power plants locally and internationally.
He has also contributed to industry knowledge through papers presented at international conferences, including Powergen (Enlit) 2007 on black start systems, CEPSI 2018 on hydro governor retrofit, and multiple technical papers on electrical and control systems for organisations such as TNB and Petronas.
