Haendra Subekti
Mr. Haendra Subekti has served as Deputy Chairman for Nuclear Safety Assessment at Indonesia’s Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN) since December 2023. In this capacity, he oversees the development of regulatory policies, safety assessments, and regulatory research covering nuclear safety, security, and safeguards. He is also currently leading BAPETEN’s work related to the amendment of Indonesia’s Nuclear Act.
Mr. Subekti has held several senior positions within BAPETEN, including Director of Regulation Development for Nuclear Installations and Materials, where he contributed to strengthening regulatory approaches for nuclear installation licensing and pre-licensing activities.
He holds a master’s degree in industrial safety engineering from Gadjah Mada University and has completed Indonesia’s National Leadership Training programmes as well as Connect ASEAN Leader Programme in early 2026. With more than twenty five years of professional experience, he currently serves on the ANSN Steering Committee and the IAEA Nuclear Security Guidance Committee and leads Indonesia’s BAPETEN delegation to ASEANTOM and IAEA Regulatory Cooperation Forum.
