Firman Hartono is a lecturer in the Aeronautics and Astronautics Study Program at the Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), where he teaches aircraft propulsion, aerodynamics, and instrumentation, measurement and experimentation. He holds bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees in engineering from ITB and has more than two decades of experience in propulsion, combustion and fluid dynamics research. His research centers on combustion systems, gas turbine technology, and propulsion, with recent work spanning the combustion characteristics of NH₃, H₂, and N₂ mixed fuels, physical modeling of photovoltaic cooling systems using Pulsating Heat Pipes (PHP), and optimization of multistage perforated plates for ultra-micro gas turbine combustion chambers. He has led numerous research projects and published extensively in the fields of combustion, gas turbines, and aerospace engineering.
