Direk Boonpiyathud
Direk Boonpiyathud currently serves as the Deputy Governor for Power System Planning and Innovation at Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) of Thailand. With a strong background in both industrial electrical technology and management, he plays a key role in shaping the future of Thailand’s power infrastructure through innovative and sustainable planning strategies.
He holds a Master of Business Administration in Management from Suan Dusit Rajabhat Institute and a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Electrical Technology from King Mongkut's Institute of Technology North Bangkok. Throughout his career, Mr. Direk has completed numerous executive training programs, including those from the Thai Energy Academy (TEA), Royal Thai Army War College, and the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA).
Mr. Direk brings a wealth of experience to his current role, having previously served as Deputy Governor (Corporate), Assistant Governor (Distribution System Service), and Director of the Electrical System Service Department.
