Dhany Harmeidy Barus
Dr. Dhany Hameidy Barus is the Vice President of Power System Operation Strategy at PT PLN. He brings over two decades of experience in power system management, planning, and research.
He began his career with PLN in system operations, serving as Manager of the LDC for Northern Sumatera from 2012-2015 and later for Jakarta Banten from 2016-2018. He went on to hold senior roles including Senior Manager of the Planning Department at P3B Sumatera in 2018 and 2019, Senior Researcher at PLN’s Research Institute from 2019-2021, and Senior Manager of the Engineering Department at P2B Jamali from 2021-2022.
Apart from his career, Dr Dhany holds a Bachelor’s degree in Power System (1998) and a Master’s degree in Power System Stability (2001), both from Institut Teknologi Bandung. In 2022, he earned his Doctorate in Power System Energy Transition from Universitas Indonesia, graduating summa cum laude with a GPA of 4.0.
