Datuk Ir. Ts. Shamsul Ahmad leads Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) as President and Chief Executive Officer, steering Malaysia’s national utility through the energy transition while safeguarding grid reliability, operational resilience, and long-term sustainability. With over 37 years of service across the Group, he has been instrumental in shaping TNB’s strategic direction, strengthening its role as the nation’s anchor utility, and advancing commitments under the National Energy Transition Roadmap.He previously served as Chief Regulatory & Stakeholder Management Officer, where he helped shape Malaysia’s electricity regulatory landscape, and held leadership roles as Managing Director of TNB Janamanjung Sdn Bhd and TNB Fuel Services Sdn Bhd, driving operational excellence and stakeholder confidence.On the international stage, Datuk Shamsul strongly advocates regional power integration across ASEAN through HAPUA and AESIEAP, while supporting government initiatives via SOME and AMEM. Beyond corporate leadership, he contributes to academia as Adjunct Professor at UNITEN Business School and chairs the Industry Advisory Panel for Mechanical Engineering programmes.
