Chris Bloomfield
Chris Bloomfield is the Counsellor for Energy and Climate Change at the Australian Embassy in Jakarta, for the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW). Prior to his posting in Indonesia, Chris held the position of Director for Industrial Energy Performance at DCCEEW, where he was actively engaged in leading initiatives related to Australia’s energy transition. Prior to joining the Australian Government, Chris led industrial decarbonisation for the Dutch Multinational, Friesland Campina.
Chris was responsible for managing the strategy, negotiation, implementation, and financing of various energy efficiency, electrification, and renewable energy projects across multiple countries, including Indonesia. He played a pivotal role in driving the energy and carbon strategy and implementation for Frisian Flag’s €250M dairy factory in Cikarang. Chris brings a combination of policy, technical and commercial experience to the energy transition. His current role is to build collaboration between the governments of Indonesia and Australia on energy transition.
