Akihiro Ondo is the Managing Director and CEO of Mitsubishi Power Asia Pacific, where he oversees regional strategy and execution of business expansion plans at Mitsubishi Power, a power solutions brand of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI). Based in Singapore, he oversees a team of over 1,200 employees across Australia, New Zealand, Bangladesh, and ASEAN countries including Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar and Vietnam.
Ondo’s leadership entails offering best-in-class energy generation innovations that will help countries in the region balance energy security and reliability with sustainable development, all toward bettering communities that Mitsubishi Power operates in. These solutions include high-efficiency gas turbines, hydrogen, ammonia and biomass co-firing, operation and maintenance (O&M) of existing power plants and more. They also contribute to MHI’s “Mission Net Zero” goal to achieve carbon neutrality in its operations and entire value chain by 2040.
