Ahmad Zulhilmi Bin Omar
Ahmad Zulhilmi Bin Omar is Lead, Generation Advisory at Single Buyer, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), with nearly 16 years of experience in Malaysia's electricity supply industry. He provides strategic, technical and commercial advice to government, regulatory and industry stakeholders on generation planning, system adequacy, reliability, flexibility and the energy transition. His work covers renewable energy, battery energy storage systems, solar-BESS hybrids, CCGT, coal transition, carbon capture and storage, and emerging firm low-carbon technologies, including nuclear power and small modular reactors. Earlier in his career, he served in technical operations and contract performance, contributing to the drafting and negotiation of major power purchase agreements and the resolution of significant commercial disputes. He also participates in national working groups supporting electricity-sector development and nuclear-readiness initiatives. Ahmad holds a Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bristol, United Kingdom, and regularly engages in international technical programmes and industry forums.
