Dr. Adarsh Nagarajan is the Head of Network Modernization at BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL) in Delhi, India, where he leads the utility’s grid modernization portfolio across digital infrastructure, distribution planning, DER integration, energy storage, and regulatory engagement. He holds a Ph.D. in Energy Systems Engineering from Arizona State University. His career focuses on the tools, frameworks, and partnerships that help utilities modernize networks, integrate clean resources, and deliver a reliable energy transition. Previously Principal Researcher and Group Manager at the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Laboratory of the Rockies (NLR), leading the Gas & Grid Interoperability and Power System Design & Planning groups within the Grid Planning and Analysis Center. Author and contributor on more than 100 publications covering network modernization, grid planning, demand flexibility, distribution resource planning, and DER integration. Technical expertise spans power grid modeling, Digital Twin environments, ADMS, and DERMS frameworks.
