Marcus Scholz has been with GE Power for the past 25 years in various positions ranging from Engineering, Product Management, Business Development to Sales and Commercial leadership roles.

In his current role as Consulting Engineer, he is providing guidance for technology applications for Gas Turbines with decarbonization technologies and the integration of renewables and energy storage technologies.

He has 30+ years of experience in power applications design, engineering and project development with gas turbines combined cycles, boilers, steam turbines and hybrid power applications.

His specific knowledge ranges from combustion design and development, including alternative fuels and hydrogen applications, testing and commissioning, with a broad range of applications engineering for gasification and process technologies.

Past positions include Project Management for the HA gas turbine product line, Business Development for Integrated Gasification Combined Cycles (IGCC), and Sales leader for boiler plant retrofit solutions.

Marcus has co-authored over 55 conference papers and provides guidance to customers, insurers, and government institutions for development of Power & Energy applications and supports professional development courses at Universities.

He graduated as Dipl.-Ing Mech. Engineering and holds a BEng(Hons) from European Engineering Degree Course (Erasmus) in London, and received an MSc in Energy Studies from Sheffield University.
