Dana Pensiun PLN was established in 1965 by PT PLN (Persero) as its principal founding sponsor, together with several co-founding sponsors, namely PT Pembangkitan Jawa-Bali (PT PJB), PT Indonesia Power, PT PLN Batam, and PT Indonesia Comnets Plus (ICON+). The Fund was established to administer a Defined Benefit Pension Program for the employees of PT PLN (Persero) and its affiliated entities.
