Enea Operator has undertaken extensive preparatory work, including market consultations with key industry players and research institutions, to ensure the selected smart meters meet stringent technical and regulatory requirements. The awarded contracts, structured as part of an innovation partnership, include the design, production, and delivery of advanced metering systems. A key feature of these meters will be communication with Enea Operator’s metering system via an eSIM module utilizing 2G/LTE CAT-M1/NB2 communication, enhancing reliability and data transmission efficiency.
A strategic partnership for a smarter energy future
The contract awarded to the Iskraemeco and PPH Politech consortium, as one of
the four key project partners, underscores the company’s long-standing
expertise in smart metering technology. By providing innovative metering
solutions, Iskraemeco will support Enea Operator in its mission to improve
energy consumption monitoring, optimize grid management, and facilitate the
ongoing energy transition.

remote reading meters by Enea Operator is not only to meet the legal obligation
under the law. The functionalities that will be implemented in the meters will

supplied, flexibly manage the operation and development of the distribution
network, which is particularly important in the ongoing energy transition. We
assume that the data obtained from the meters will contribute to the optimal
use of funds from the investment plan for expansion and modernization of the

With the agreements now in place, Iskraemeco and its
partners will work closely with Enea Operator to finalize the design and begin
production. The first batch of smart meters is expected to be delivered in
2025, with installation commencing shortly thereafter.
