Energy Service Company (ESCO) is an energy conservation and/or renewable energy service offering a full range of services covering consulting, project presentation, project management, engineering design, energy consumption analysis, equipment installation and operation for energy conservation and/or renewable energy projects, financing for energy projects, etc.

“Procurement of funding sources”

This will depend on the type of Energy Performance Contract (EPC) that ESCO has signed with entrepreneurs, such as entrepreneurs as an investor, where ESCO will be the guarantor of the project's net benefit (Guaranteed Saving), or ESCO as an investor and take the risks then uses the net benefits of the project to share the benefits between ESCO and entrepreneurs under the Energy Performance Contract (Shared Saving), etc. In this regard, ESCO are required to have a performance guarantee that has a clear operational measurement and verification process which is the cornerstone of this business to ensure that the technical risks of the energy project are fully guaranteed by ESCO throughout the service contract period.
