Rachael Lim
Ir. Ts. Racheal Lim has served Sabah Electricity Sdn. Bhd. for 21 years, starting as a Maintenance Engineer and rising to become the General Manager of the Transmission Division in 2016 before her recent promotion in January 2025 as the Chief Transmission Officer. She is the only woman in Malaysia certified as a 275kV Electrical Service Engineer, in addition to holding multiple professional credentials including 275kV Competent Electrical Engineer, ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer, BEM Professional Engineer with Practising Certificate, Certified Professional Trainer (IPMA UK), GIMI Certified Innovation Professional, ABNLP Certified NLP Practitioner, and MCI Certified Analyst. Academically, she holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) and an Advanced Diploma in Business Administration. She has actively contributed to the engineering community, having served as the Past Chairlady of the Women Engineers Section and as a former EXCO member of IEM Sabah.
During her 8-year tenure as General Manager, she spearheaded transformational improvements in SESB’s transmission performance, achieving over a 95% reduction in system minutes, maintaining single-digit SAIDI for two consecutive years, and setting a new milestone in 2024 with system minutes falling below 1 minute—surpassing international benchmarks and setting new standards for operational excellence.
