As the President and Chief Executive Officer of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), Dato' Indera Ir. Baharin brings over 35 years of experience within the power sector to lead the Malaysian utility company with businesses across the value chain – generation, transmission, distribution, and retail - serves over 10 million customers in Malaysia and with presence in the United Kingdom, Kuwait, Turkiye, Saudi Arabia, and India.

Before his appointment as CEO, he was the Chief Distribution Network Officer, overseeing the most extensive business division in TNB that is at the heart of enabling the energy transition for Malaysia. Baharin has also served as the Managing Director of Sabah Electricity Sdn. Bhd., overseeing power generation, distribution and supply to Sabah and Labuan and was the Director of the Electrical Inspectorate Department in Sabah and Pahang, under the Ministry of Energy, Telecommunication & Post Malaysia. His strategic leadership and vast experience in the energy sector has helped TNB become among the most respected energy companies in the Asia Pacific region.

Under Baharin's leadership, TNB has made significant investments in renewable energy and continues to pursue an ambitious growth agenda through the Reimagining TNB strategy to be a leading provider of sustainable energy solutions in Malaysia and internationally and achieve a Net-Zero Emissions target by 2050. Dato' Indera Ir. Baharin holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Syracuse and a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from UNITEN, Malaysia/Bond University, Sydney.
