New partnership alert! SFC Energy AG recently released the news of a burgeoning expansion and partnership with Toyota Tsusho. Together, they will expand in Southeast Asia with regional growth, specifically in Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam, and will also begin to kick-start market development in China. As part of the sales strategy, the advantages of adopting SFC hydrogen and direct methanol fuel cells will be promoted.
For SFC Energy AG, a top global provider of direct methanol and hydrogen fuel cells for stationary and mobile hybrid power supply solutions, the noteworthy expansion will include significantly enlarging its sales territory for market development. An SFC Energy AG partnership will also encompass global experience, which will be scalable and the Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Peter Podesser, of SFC Energy AG, shared that he expects the strategic move will be rewarding for all parties. “Expanding our presence in the Asian market is an important cornerstone of our growth strategy. The joint decision of Toyota Tsusho and SFC Energy enables us to serve customers locally even closer and more efficiently, as well as to drive further growth. Our market-leading expertise, combined with Toyota Tsusho’s broad reach, creates unique synergies on the path to a low-carbon society,” says Podesser.
Both Podesser and the Chief Operating Officer for Toyota Tsusho are looking forward to the potential and what they may achieve collectively in their newly forged partnership. “Together with our partner SFC Energy, we are keeping pace with the high growth rate in the Southeast Asian markets. Through our extensive sales network and SFC Energy’s environmentally friendly and powerful fuel cell systems, we offer our customers solutions for the key challenges such as digitalisation, urbanisation, or climate protection that are particularly relevant in Asia and China,” said Futoshi Horisaki, the Chief Operating Officer of Toyota Tsusho Corporation Global Parts and Logistics Divisions.
When looking forward, the future goal of the teamed-up organizations’ endeavour is not only for continued market development in ASEAN and China using a team of experts from both organisations but also an impressive sales target of approximately $100 million (EUR) by 2025. With the partnership in place and with SFC Energy already holding the largest single order for 135 EFOY Pro fuel cells for the Japanese market, the partnership is poised for significant future achievements.
