EGAT Showcases Clean Energy Technologies and GHG Management at COP30, Advancing Toward Net Zero Emissions
25 November 2025 - EGAT participated in the 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30) in Brazil, showcasing Thailand’s advancement in clean energy technology and greenhouse gas management and highlighting its role as the national energy organization ready to drive clean energy transition efficiently and sustainably.

The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) joined the 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30) and showcased Thailand’s success in clean energy technology and greenhouse gas management, as well as demonstrated EGAT’s active role in driving clean energy transition sustainably, during November 10-21, 2025, in Belém, Brazil.

Professor Pisut Painmanakul, Member of the EGAT Board of Directors, shared his perspective on the topic of “Fast-Tracking Net Zero: Urban Pathways to a Regenerative Future,” offering ways to develop the city while caring for the economy, society, environment, and technology in order to achieve Net Zero Emissions. He also joined the discussion on “Driving Systems Change through Climate Public Private Partnerships (PPP),” discussing collaborations between the public and private sectors to tackle climate change, which relates to EGAT’s role in the development of clean energy as well as the country’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Mr. Eakarat Samintarapanya, EGAT Assistant Governor – Power Plant Planning joined in the seminar “The Green Investment Frontier: Accelerating Innovation from Fund to Frontline” and gave a presentation on the role of financial mechanisms in driving environmentally friendly innovations and technologies to promote low-carbon economy concretely. Moreover, he participated in exchanging ideas and showcased EGAT’s innovations on greenhouse gas management, displaying EGAT’s determination to support clean energy development and build a sustainable city during the seminar “Fast-Tracking Net Zero: Urban Pathways to a Regenerative Future.”

EGAT also held an exhibition at the Thailand Pavilion to showcase the country’s advancement in energy innovations and technologies to cope with climate change, such as Utility Green Tariff (UGT) and Small Modular Reactor (SMR), which reflects EGAT’s commitment to the transition toward clean energy and greenhouse gas emission reduction, advancing toward the goal of Net Zero Emissions.
EGAT’s presence at COP30 not only demonstrates EGAT’s environmental responsibility at the global level, but also highlights the potential of Thai organization as a leader of clean energy innovation and its readiness to build a sustainable energy future at the international stage.
